2026 WCQ: South Africa players stranded at Port Harcourt airport ahead of Nigeria clash

Players and officials of Bafana Bafana of South Africa spent the night in Port Harcourt as they were unable to travel to Uyo for their 2026 FIFA World Cup tie against Nigeria, TOTAL SPORTS reports.

The contingent arrived Port Harcourt from Johannesburg on Wednesday night.

They were however unable to travel to Uyo because the airport had closed by the time the team was scheduled to take off.

Hugo Broos’ men are now expected to make the trip to Uyo on Thursday morning.

The team will have a feel of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo later this evening.

The encounter will take place on Friday at 8pm.
