Amidst the whirlwind of speculation surrounding Marcus Rashford’s potential exit from Manchester United, Arsenal legend Paul Merson offers a fresh perspective that hints at the England forward’s likelihood of staying put at Old Trafford this summer.
Despite persistent interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Merson points to Rashford’s inconsistent displays and modest goal-scoring record this season as potential deterrents for potential suitors.
With just seven goals in 31 Premier League outings, Rashford’s lackluster form has prompted questions about his prospects of representing England at Euro 2024.
Speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson acknowledges Rashford’s undeniable talent while underscoring his penchant for fluctuating between moments of brilliance and spells of mediocrity.
These factors, Merson suggests, could ultimately hinder any substantial transfer offers for the 26-year-old forward in the upcoming transfer window.
“There have been reports that Marcus Rashford could be offloaded this summer,” Merson said.
“I like him but he blows hot and cold far too often for teams to pay silly money for him, so I can’t see him getting a transfer this summer.”
