Former Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry has provided insight into Real Madrid’s triumph over Bayern Munich in their Champions League semi-final.
Henry criticized Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel’s choice to substitute Harry Kane during the crucial match.
Expressing his disbelief, Henry emphasized the significance of facing a formidable opponent like Real Madrid and questioned the rationale behind withdrawing key players.
Despite Bayern Munich initially taking the lead with a spectacular goal from Alphonso Davies in the 68th minute, Real Madrid staged a remarkable comeback in the dying moments, securing a 2-1 victory and progressing to the final with a 4-3 aggregate score.
The dramatic turn of events highlighted the intensity of elite football competitions and the importance of strategic decisions on the field.
“You don’t take Kane out in a game like that, because you play against Real Madrid. You’re not playing against any, sorry to say, Mickey Mouse teams.
“This is Real Madrid, that is what they do. There’s no luck in that, it’s called Real Madrid. Period,” Henry said after the game.
TOTAL SPORTS reports that when Kane was on the pitch against Real Madrid, Bayern Munich were heading to the Champions League final.
Tuchel then substituted the England international in the 85th minute against Real Madrid by bringing on Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
