EPL: John Terry tells Chelsea owners best manager to coach team next season

Former Chelsea captain, John Terry, staunchly supports Mauricio Pochettino, urging the club’s owners to retain the Argentine as manager for the upcoming season.

Pochettino faced a tumultuous first season at Stamford Bridge, grappling with numerous injuries while molding a team from a youthful, hastily assembled, and inexperienced squad.

Despite occupying seventh place in the table and a season without silverware looming, recent performances have displayed promising signs for the Blues.

A convincing 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur was followed by a resounding 5-0 triumph against West Ham United, drawing praise from Blues chairman Todd Boehly.

Amid swirling speculation about the manager’s future, Terry contends that Pochettino has adeptly steered through a demanding season and advocates for his continuity at the helm.

Reflecting on Pochettino’s tenure, Terry stated to the Mirror, “I think Poch has done well. It was always going to be difficult right from the outset – we were a very young group of players from the outset.

“There were a lot of signings and a big clearout in the summer of not only players but staff as well. There was a big turnaround and obviously Poch is new in the door.

“I have seen him work, I love the way he works, I love the way he is with the players,’ said the Blues legend. ‘He certainly needs a bit of time.I think every club needs stability.”
