Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has claimed Son Heung-Min’s late miss during Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, proved crucial in the Premier League title race.
Son had the chance to make it 1-1, when a defensive mix-up left him clear one on one with Stefan Ortega.
However, the Spurs captain hit his shot straight at Ortega, before Haaland make it 2-0 from the penalty spot.
If Tottenham had taken points off City, Arsenal’s 2-1 against Everton on Sunday, would have seen them win the title for th first time in 20 years.
Wright, speaking on BBC Match of the Day, said: “Honestly, you couldn’t have asked for a better person. When he’s going through I’m thinking, ‘Oh my god this is it’.
“And then the more you watch it you can see how far his standing foot was from the ball, he kind of rushed the finish, he didn’t get a good connection.
“How Pep [Guardiola] was is how I was in my front room! I was thinking, ‘That was it right there, that was the title right there’.”
