Ex-Chelsea midfielder, Ross Barkley set to join another EPL club after Luton Town’s relegation

Aston Villa is reportedly close to securing a deal for former Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley from Luton Town following their relegation from the Premier League on Sunday.

Previously linked with Manchester United as a potential replacement for Casemiro, Barkley now appears set to join Villa as they prepare for the Champions League after finishing fourth in the Premier League.

Barkley, who impressed during his time at Luton after joining as a free agent last summer, has expressed his desire to return to the Premier League and compete in Europe.

According to The Guardian, the deal is nearing completion, with Barkley eager to make his mark back in the top-flight.

“I want to play in the Premier League,” Barkley recently said.

“I want to play in Europe again… I feel like for the next three years maybe I will still be in my prime years.”
