- World number one Novak Djokovic beat Tallon Griekspoor to advance to the semi-finals of the Geneva Open on Thursday. The 37-year-old claimed a 7-5 6-1 victory against his Dutch opponent and will face Czech Tomas Machac in the last four.
- The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria are through to the semi-final at the WAFU B U-17 Championship after a comfortable 3-0 win against Togo on Thursday. A brace from Abdulmuiz Adeleke and Rapha Adams gave the Eaglets maximum points in the game.
- Teenager Luke Littler continued his astonishing rise by winning the 2024 Premier League Darts title with an 11-7 victory over Luke Humphries at the O2 Arena in London. Littler, 17, was left in tears after winning six of the last eight legs to beat world champion Humphries in the final, racing off the stage to hug his family.
- West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta has been charged with spot-fixing offences in four Premier League matches. The Brazil international denies any wrongdoing but the Football Association has charged him in relation to his conduct in matches against Leicester in November 2022, Aston Villa in March 2023, Leeds in May 2023 and Bournemouth last August.
- Pep Guardiola has been named the 2023/24 Premier League Manager of the Season after an historic campaign with Manchester City. Organisers of the English top-flight, Premier League, made the announcement on their website.
