Former Manchester United captain, Wayne Rooney has singled out two players for praise after a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo scored for the Red Devils as they raced into a two-goal lead by half time.
Jeremy Doku did score a goal for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Rooney, speaking on BBC One after the game, hailed both youngsters.
“To come into the middle of the pitch and dominate the way Kobbie Mainoo has done for large portions of this season and to perform the way he did against this Manchester City team.
“Them two [Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho] have been the stand out players for Manchester United this season.
“For them to be the matchwinners is great, I’m really pleased for them,” Roooney said.
