Champions League: Ancelotti opens up on how to beat Man City

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has opened up on the tactics that saw his team knocked out Manchester City from the UEFA Champions League this season.

The Los Blancos saw off Man City in the Champions League quarter-finals and will take on Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Real Madrid drew 3-3 with Pep Guardiola’s side at the Santiago Bernabeu, before winning on penalties after drawing at Etihad Stadium.

“You see, there is no ‘Ancelotti style’ – there is no style for me because I change,” Ancelotti said.

“Against Manchester City in Champions League quarter-final, we played low block, strong defence. We have played that way this season one or two times, no more.”

“We don’t play like that, we are more attacking. But I saw that as the way to compete and to win that game.”
