FA Cup: He came to Chelsea in difficult moment – Lampard hails 21-year-old star

Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard has hailed Cole Palmer after the forward shone against his former club Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.

Lampard said the 21-year-old is the man Chelsea supporters want in front of goal, adding that he came to Stamford Bridge in difficult moment.

Palmer produced another brilliant display at Wembley Stadium but ended up on the losing team as Bernardo Silva’s goal ensured Pep Guardiola’s s defeated the Blues 1-0.

“He’s the man who you want in front of goal because he was the one giving all the passes today. There were lots of positives today but in this situation the transitional squad they have let’s give them time and see if they get better,” Lampard told the BBC.

“Cole Palmer came into a club that is in a difficult moment. Maybe it has worked well for him as it has made him stand out, but it is not easy to arrive with such confidence and quiet arrogance.

“Today is another box ticked for him. Wembley, high pressure, against Man City, can you perform again at the high level? And he has just done,” he further stated.
