Plymouth Argyle manager, Wayne Rooney has urged England head coach manager Gareth Southgate to build his team around Manchester City’s Phil Foden instead of Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham ahead of the Euro 2024.
This is coming after England’s recent friendly 1-0 defeat against Iceland.
Foden was named the Premier League Player of the Year after an impressive performance for the Cityzens last season.
The 24-year-old scored 27 goals and provided 12 assists in 53 games across competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side.
“Jude Bellingham is great, but when you have a player like Phil Foden in the middle, you have to build the England team around him,” Rooney told Channel 4.
