Transfer: ‘Let him go’ – Rio Ferdinand on Man Utd star

Manchester United icon, Rio Ferdinand wants his old club to consider selling Marcus Rashford if the forward couldn’t adequately explain his recent dip in form.

Rashford’s future with Man United is in doubt following a significant decline last season.

The England international managed just eight goals and five assists in 43 appearances, a stark contrast to his career-best performance the previous season.

His commitment to Erik ten Hag’s side has come under scrutiny as a result.

He was omitted from England manager Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2024, marking the first major international tournament he has missed since debuting for rhe the Three Lions in May 2016.

When tasked with deciding which players Manchester United should keep or sell, Ferdinand said (via The Daily Mail):

“Interesting one, I think I need to talk to Rashford and find out where his heads at, what he wants to do, what’s been the reason for downturn in performances.

” If I get the right answer I will keep him, if I don’t like what I hear then I will let him go.”
