FA Cup: Ian Wright names two decisions Ten Hag made that left him ‘very surprised’

Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has named two decisions Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag made that left him ‘very surprised’ during the Red Devils’ FA Cup semi-final victory over Coventry City on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

Man United booked their spot in the FA Cup final for the second season in a row after a dramatic win over the Championship side.

The Red Devils had a three-goal cushion but Coventry sensationally battled back to 3-3.

The Premier League club eventually won 4-2 on penalties.

“I was just very surprised to see Mainoo, I don’t know if he’s got a knock or something, but he’s somebody who can control the game or slow it down, so I was very surprised to see him coming off,” Wright said on ITV. “The same with Garnacho.

“You can talk about experience, but bringing on [Christian] Eriksen has not really made much of a difference. I was bewildered.”

Recall that Ten Hag opted to substitute Garnacho for Antony and Mainoo for Christian Eriksen in the second half.
