  1. The Euro 2024 Round of 16 fixtures will start today (Saturday). Switzerland will face Italy, while the host nation Germany will clash with Denmark.
  2. Republic of Ireland crashed out of the World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt after suffering one of the biggest shocks in the competition’s history at the hands of debutants Chinese Taipei. Meanwhile, Northern Ireland avoided any upset to book their place in last 16 with a 4-3 victory over Switzerland.
  3. Chelsea on Friday announced the departure of two of their players from the Premier League west London club. In a separate statements via their website, the Blues said Ian Maatsen joined Premier League rival Aston Villa on a permanent transfer, while Hakim Ziyech joined Galatasaray.
  4. Max Verstappen edged out Lando Norris by just 0.093 seconds to take pole position for the sprint race at the Austrian Grand Prix. Verstappen, the last of the front-runners to cross the line, despite being unhappy with his tyres as a result of a chaotic end to the session and crowded track.
  5. Grace Kim had a hole-in-one and combined with Auston Kim for eight birdies for a nine-under 61 and that earns them a five-way share of the lead in the Dow Championship.
    The best score of the second round actually belonged to the Danish pair Nicole Broch Estrup and Nanna Koertz Madsen, who birdied their last two holes for a 10-under-par 60.
