Euro 2024: Kylian Mbappe under fire as Spain eliminate France

Former French footballer, Frank Leboeuf has criticized Kylian Mbappe after France’s Euro 2024 semi-final 2-1 defeat to Spain on Tuesday night.

Leboeuf, a former Chelsea star, insisted that Mbappe didn’t performed well for the Les Blues at the Euro 2024.

Mbappe, who recently joined Real Madrid, only scored one goal in five games for France at Euro 2024.

Speaking on ESPN’s YouTube channel, Leboeuf said of Mbappe:

“He’s going to be hammered (by the fans) because they have the right to be disappointed.

“He only scored one goal and had one assist. It’s not enough for Mbappe. We put him on such a high pedestal and think that maybe he is the best player in his position in the world but you have to prove it.

“Even before his injury, he’s been struggling for 2-3 months. Is it because he signed for Real Madrid? Hopefully for him, in Madrid it’s going to be better than this. There is a concern about him. Mbappe wasn’t good.”
