Transfer: Man City defender leaves Gaurdiola’s men for new club

Manchester City have confirmed that defender Sergio Gomez has left Etihad to join Spanish LaLiga club Real Sociedad on a permanent transfer.

The Premier League champions stated this in a statement on their website on Friday.

“Everyone at Manchester City sends their best wishes to Sergio ahead of his move to Real Sociedad,” Man City’s statement read.

Gomez spent two seasons at Pep Guardiola’s side after joining the club in 2022 from Anderlecht.

His time at City saw him make 38 appearances as he helped them win six trophies.

The 23-year-old was part of the squad that won the Treble of Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in 2022/23.

He also won the UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League across 2023/24.
