EPL: Enzo Maresca names 10 Chelsea players that fit his style of football

Chelsea head coach, Enzo Maresca, has listed some of the players in his squad that has the qualities he likes.

Maresca was appointed to replace Mauricio Pochettino this summer.

The Italian arrives from Leicester City after helping the Foxes win the Championship title.

He is now expected to revamp the Chelsea squad and implement a new style of football.

Maresca said: “It’s because in our system, there are some positions that are very important, for instance, the two holding midfielders, Moises [Caicedo] and Romeo [Lavia], who can play together.

“We can use some of the guys like Malo [Gusto], like Reece [James].

“We can even use Marc [Cucurella] in that [inverted full-back] position.

“Then pocket players you have Cole [Palmer], who can play there. He can play wide, but he can play inside.

“We have Christopher [Nkunku], who can play inside, Enzo [Fernandez] can play in the pocket. And we have wingers who are quite good in one v one, like Misha [Mudryk].

“And from behind, we have defenders who are very good at building the play, like Levi [Colwill]. So there are some positions where we have some players who are very good for the way we play.”
