Chelsea on Thursday defeated Servette 2-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off.
The Blues dropped into the competition despite finishing sixth in the Premier League, due to Manchester United winning the FA Cup.
Enzo Maresca’s side fell to score in the first half against the Swiss club at Stamford Bridge.
However, Christopher Nkunku grabbed his first goal of the season from the spot, to give Chelsea the lead after the break.
Noni Madueke added a second, rifling home from a tight angle with his weaker right foot.
The result puts Chelsea in a firm position to qualify for the main competition.
