Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has explained why his team thrashed Chelsea 5-0 in Tuesday’s Premier League tie at Emirates Stadium.
Arteta watched as goals from Leandro Trossard, Ben White (2) and Kai Havertz (2) gave his team all three points against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The victory ensured Arsenal ar now three points clear at the top of the Premier League table ahead of Liverpool and four points ahead of Manchester City.
Speaking at his post-match interview, Arteta said Arsenal defeated the Blues because his players were really good collectively and individually.
According to him, his players played with a lot of courage against the visitors.
The Spainaird said, “Yes, a big performance. I thought collectively and individually we were really good against a really good team that was in great form and that was going to ask us a lot of great questions.
“I think we responded really well. From the first half we were really flowing and playing with a lot of courage and making things happen.
“Really happy today with the result, it’s a great day for our supporters as well. So really happy with that.”
