EPL: ‘What are you doing’ – Rio Ferdinand blasts Arteta’s behaviour in Arsenal’s draw with Brighton

The behaviour of Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta during their 1-1 draw with Brighton did not sit well with former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand.

The former England international took a shot at Arteta after the Gunners’ 1-1 home draw with Brighton on Saturday.

The Gunners finished with 10 men, with midfielder Declan Rice getting sent off.

Quoting a clip from the game, Ferdinand pointed out that the Spanish manager was outside his technical area.

He implied a penalty for the Gunners manager.

Ferdinand’s tweet came after the Arsenal boss had slammed the match officials for Rice’s controversial red card in the 49th minute.

Rice was sent off for delaying the game.

The referee blew a whistle when Rice flicked the ball that Joel Veltman had placed for taking a free-kick.

The Brighton defender reacted violently and smacked Rice with his leg.

When the stadium expected Veltman to be sent off, referee Chris Kavanagh dished out a second card to Rice.

Rice was already on a yellow for a challenge on Veltman in the first half.

“What’s Arteta doing outside his technical area,” Rio Ferdinand wrote on X.
