Euro 2024: Fabio Capello snubs Ronaldo, names two players to make difference at tournament

Former Real Madrid manager, Fabio Capello has snubbed Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and named England’s Jude Bellingham and France’s Kylian Mbappe to influence their countries’ success at Euro 2024 in Germany this summer.

Capello expects both Bellingham and Mbappe to play starring roles for their respective countries, snubbing Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has tasted the highest levels of success attainable in European football with Portugal.

The 39-year-old have led them to win the Euros in 2016.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, Ronaldo is expected to be one of the first names on the Portugal list for the Euros this year.

Now 39, the former Manchester United forward may not have the opportunity to play in any more international tournaments for Portugal, making this all the more important.

However, Capello doubts if Ronaldo can play a key role in leading his country to victory in the competition.

“There are two players who make the difference, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe,” Capello said (via Goal).

“And we will have to see how the year in [Saudi] Arabia has been for Cristiano.”
