Thomas Tuchel has revealed that the CEO of English Football Association (FA), Mark Bullingham, convinced him to become the manager of the Three Lions.
The former Bayern Munich and Chelsea manager has already agreed a deal with the FA, and will take up his position in January 2025.
The German has agreed an 18-month contract with the FA, which will see him stay as England manager until after the 2026 World Cup.
Tuchel will take over from Lee Carsley, who will continue in interim charge for England’s two Nations League games in November.
“Well, I like the idea here at the FA… and the way their CEO Mark presented it,” Tuchel was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying.
“That was a decision for this job, and not against anyone else or any club.”
