EPL: Man Utd sack Ten Hag, name replacement

Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge as interim head coach of Manchester United.

The development followed the sack of Erik ten Hag on Monday.

Ten Hag’s two-and-a-half-year spell at Old Trafford ended after a poor start to the campaign.

The development comes after a series of poor results, with Man United sitting 14th in the Premier League table.

Ten Hag was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.

The 54-year-old was backed by new co-owners INEOS in the summer with a contract extension until June 2026.
