Liverpool legend, Mark Lawrenson has told manager Erik ten Hag he made a ‘big mistake’ when he let winger Jadon Sancho leave Old Trafford earlier in the season.
Recall that Sancho was loaned out to his former club Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.
The England international had falling out with Ten Hag at the start of the season.
He was frozen out by the Ten Hag after refusing to apologise for his social media response to the United boss claiming he was underperforming in training.
“Erik ten Hag letting Jadon Sancho go was a big mistake given the form of some of the Manchester United players – you can’t say he wouldn’t have done better than them,” Lawrenson told Paddy Power.
Sancho has been impressive so far for Dortmund as he led them to the Champions League semi-final stage where they will face Paris Saint-Germain.
