EPL: That’s what you need – Ally McCoist tells Arsenal to sign ex-Chelsea striker

Former Rangers star, Ally McCoist has advised Arsenal to sign former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this month.

McCoist said this after Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus recently sustained an injury, adding that the Premier League North London club are desperate for a centre-forward this January transfer window.

According to him, the Gunners need a player like Abraham who can stay in the six-yard box and score goals.

Recall that Jesus was stretchered off in Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United last Sunday.

Arsenal later confirmed on Tuesday that the Brazilian suffered an ACL tear and he is set to undergo surgery.

This is definitely a big blow for Mikel Arteta’s side as Jesus now joins Bukayo Saka on the sideline.

Saka is expected to be back to action for Arsenal in March as he is currently recovery from a hamstring injury.

Arsenal have been linked with many strikers, including Victor Osimhen and Alexander Isak.

But McCoist wants the Gunners to consider signing Abraham, who isbon loan at AC Milan from AS Roma.

“Seemingly it’s taken an injury to Gabriel Jesus to push them over the line in going to get a centre-forward. Which is something that should have happened a long time ago,” McCoist said (via Metro).

“Who do they get?” he added. “The thing is now, the selling club know that they’re desperate. Absolutely desperate. £20m becomes £30m, £40m becomes £50m and they’ve only got themselves to blame for that situation.

“One that is going under the radar a little bit…Tammy Abraham. They just need somebody that can effectively stand in the six-yard box and score goals. That is what they need.”
