Bundesliga: Bayer Leverkusen extend unbeaten run with another dramatic stoppage-time equaliser

Bayer Leverkusen continued their remarkable unbeaten run with another dramatic stoppage-time equaliser against Stuttgart on Saturday.

The reigning Bundesliga champions fought back from 2-0 down to secure a draw, with Robert Andrich scoring in the 96th minute at the BayArena.

This result is the latest in Leverkusen’s incredible 46-game unbeaten run, which has seen them win 39 times and draw on seven occasions.

Despite already being crowned champions, Xabi Alonso’s team are now aiming for the first ever unbeaten campaign in Bundesliga history.

With three games left, they remain on course to achieve this remarkable feat.

Leverkusen will also be eyeing a treble in Alonso’s first full season in charge, with the German Cup final still to come.

The draw against Stuttgart followed a similar story to last week’s game against Borussia Dortmund, where Leverkusen needed a 97th-minute equaliser to secure a draw.

They have also shown their resilience in the Europa League, with Jeremie Frimpong scoring an 89th-minute equaliser against West Ham just days before their draw with Dortmund.

Leverkusen will now face AS Roma in the Europa League semi-final first leg on Thursday as they continue their pursuit of European glory.
