  1. The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, on Monday announced the appointment of Finidi George as new Super Eagles head coach. George beat former Nigeria international Emmanuel Amuneke to the job.
  2. Britain’s Cam Norrie is out of the Madrid Masters after a third-round defeat to Casper Rudd, while Rafael Nadal survived a scare to win a three-hour epic against Pedro Cachin.
    Norway’s Ruud cruised to an opening 6-2 set success in just 31 minutes, breaking Norrie three times as the Brit struggled to deal with the power he was facing.
  3. Real Madrid will on Tuesday night face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg tie. The match will take place at the Allianz Arena.
  4. Super Falcons keeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been crowned the best goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema (women’s league). Nnadozie is the first African and Nigerian to win the individual accolade.
  5. Jamie Vardy’s double sealed the Championship title for Leicester City with one game to spare as the Foxes cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Preston on Monday. Leicester’s No 9 got the party started with goals either side of half-time to send Enzo Maresca’s side on their way to a title-sealing victory, before Kasey McAteer put the cherry on the top with a third goal.
