- The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, on Monday announced the appointment of Finidi George as new Super Eagles head coach. George beat former Nigeria international Emmanuel Amuneke to the job.
- Britain’s Cam Norrie is out of the Madrid Masters after a third-round defeat to Casper Rudd, while Rafael Nadal survived a scare to win a three-hour epic against Pedro Cachin.
Norway’s Ruud cruised to an opening 6-2 set success in just 31 minutes, breaking Norrie three times as the Brit struggled to deal with the power he was facing. - Real Madrid will on Tuesday night face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg tie. The match will take place at the Allianz Arena.
- Super Falcons keeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been crowned the best goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema (women’s league). Nnadozie is the first African and Nigerian to win the individual accolade.
- Jamie Vardy’s double sealed the Championship title for Leicester City with one game to spare as the Foxes cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Preston on Monday. Leicester’s No 9 got the party started with goals either side of half-time to send Enzo Maresca’s side on their way to a title-sealing victory, before Kasey McAteer put the cherry on the top with a third goal.
