Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, on Tuesday surpassed a Champions League record held by Ferenc Puskas
following his side’s semi-final first leg 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
Modric became the oldest player to play a Champions League match in a Real Madrid shirt, at the age of 38 years and 234 days.
Puskas had previously held the record, having played in the European Cup for Madrid against Kilmarnock at the age of 38 years and 229 days in 1965.
TOTAL SPORTS reports that Modric was brought in as a substitute in the 75th minute at the Allianz Arena.
The Croatia international replaced Jude Bellingham.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star has made 528 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 84 assists.
The 38-year-old has not been a regular starter for Madrid this season.
