Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made a bid to return to the club as their new manager, according to Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato.
Conte is pushing to convince the club to hire him in a bid to reignite his coaching career after leaving Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent in March 2023.
The Italian had previously held the reins at Chelsea from 2016 to 2018, leading them to several trophies during his tenure, and is hoping to rekindle his past successes with the club.
Meanwhile, the current Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino is facing mounting pressure after a disappointing season that will likely see them miss out on European football again.
Pochettino’s side currently occupy the 9th position on the Premier League table with three matches remaining.
