Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he remains unsure whether he will have enough time to turn Chelsea back into Premier League contenders, despite their impressive 2-0 win over rivals Tottenham on Thursday.
Nathaniel Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson scored for Pochettino’s side, as they completed a Premier League double over Spurs this season.
Speaking after the match, Pochettino expressed his frustration at the ongoing speculation surrounding his future, insisting that all managers need time to translate their ideas and philosophy.
Despite missing several key players through injury, the Blues managed to secure the win, with Pochettino highlighting the importance of team spirit over big names.
However, he remains uncertain about his future at the club and feels frustrated that he continues to come under scrutiny and judgement.
Reflecting on the situation, Pochettino insisted that he needs more time to turn things around and that it’s not his decision to be at the club.
“I think enough is enough,” Pochettino told Sky Sports when asked about the continuing speculation surrounding his future.
“All the managers need time to translate their ideas and their philosophy. More when the team is like this squad is. We need to have time. It’s not my decision.
“It’s difficult to see every single week that I’m under scrutiny and I’m under judgement. But it’s not my decision to be here or not to be here.”
