Transfer: Arteta denies Arsenal’s willingness to part ways with Jesus

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has vehemently rejected recent claims suggesting the club’s readiness to entertain offers for Gabriel Jesus during the upcoming summer transfer window, affirming the Brazilian’s integral role in the squad.

Despite injuries hampering his second season at the Emirates since his £45 million move from Manchester City in July 2022, Jesus has remained a pivotal figure for Arsenal.

While his goal tally of four in 24 Premier League appearances may appear modest, Arteta underscores his importance, refuting suggestions of his potential departure.

With Kai Havertz’s emergence as a striking option, Jesus has faced reduced minutes upfront, sparking rumors of a potential exit.

However, Arteta dismissed such speculation, emphasizing the 27-year-old’s significance to the team’s plans.

Addressing the reports at a pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, Arteta firmly denied the Gunners’ openness to selling Jesus, stating, “I don’t know where this is coming from.”

When pressed further about the possibility of Jesus leaving in the summer, Arteta reiterated his stance, asserting, “No, no.”

Arteta’s unequivocal response aims to quash any uncertainty surrounding Jesus’s future, reinforcing Arsenal’s commitment to retaining the talented forward amidst ongoing transfer speculations.
