Arsenal could struggle to sign Newcastle’s midfielder, Bruno Guimaraes, this summer, warns Barcelona legend Rivaldo, as he points out that Manchester City are also interested in the Brazilian international.
With midfielder Thomas Partey’s and Jorginho’s uncertain futures and the need to strengthen the squad, Bruno Guimaraes, who had an impressive season with Newcastle, is back on Arsenal’s radar.
However, Rivaldo reckons the 24-year-old might prefer Manchester City’s offer, given that they have manager Pep Guardiola and a tight-knit team.
With such competition, Rivaldo suggests that Gunners’ fans should not have their hopes too high on securing Guimaraes’ signature.
“Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City. He’s a great player and has been standing out this season,” Rivaldo told Betfair.
“It’s clear that nowadays everyone wants to play for Manchester City because they have Pep Guardiola and a very tight and harmonious team.
“I believe that if Guimaraes leaves Newcastle, he will choose to go to Manchester City.”
