AFCON 2025Q: Fidelis Ilechukwu gets Super Eagles appointment

 

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have appointed Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu as one of the assistants to Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen.

Ilechukwu’s appointment was confirmed by the NFF on Monday.

The young gaffer masterminded Rangers’ eighth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title  last season.

The former Heartland coach once worked as an assistant at the U-23 level.

His Remo Stars’ counterpart, Daniel Ogunmodede will also work as an assistant to Eguavoen.

Eguavoen will take charge of the Super Eagles for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

The Super Eagles will host neighbours Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday.

The West Africans will also face Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali next week Tuesday.
