Brazil head coach, Dorival Junior has taken “full responsibility” for their 2024 Copa América quarter-final exit.
Junior’s lost to 10-man Uruguay 4-2 in a penalty shootout on Saturday.
The match had ended in a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes.
Éder Militão and Douglas Luiz both failed to convert their kicks during the shoot-out, while Alisson Becker denied Uruguay defender José María Giménez.
Manuel Ugarte converted the winning spot-kick to send Uruguay through.
“I do have to acknowledge that these weren’t the expected results, and I take full responsibility for them.
“But I do think as well that this team has great room to grow and evolve and improve,” Dorival told reporters after the game.
