EPL: Arsenal don’t deserve to be Premier League champions – Rio Ferdinand

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has said that Arsenal wouldn’t deserve to be Premier League champions if they fail to beat the Red Devils.

Arsenal will tackle Man United in an away Premier League fixture at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side head to the game after beating Bournemouth 3-0 in their last game, while Man City were defeated 4-0 to Crystal Palace.

Amidst Man United’s turmoil, Ferdinand argued that Arsenal’s title aspirations would be undeserved if they stumbled against Erik ten Hag’s side.

Expressing his views on his FIVE Podcast, Ferdinand said:

“If Arsenal were to lose against Man United in this fixture, they wouldn’t merit the championship title. Facing a depleted and demoralized opponent with little stake in the league, such encounters define a title run-in.”

Arsenal currently occupied the summit of the Premier League standings with 83 points from 36 matches.

Their closest rivals, Manchester City, trailed by a solitary point but possessed a game in hand.
