On Tuesday evening, Chelsea broke two unwelcome records by losing 5-0 against Arsenal in the Premier League match.
The defeat takes Chelsea’s tally of league goals conceded to 57, surpassing their own record of the most league goals conceded in a season.
Furthermore, the Blues still have six games to play, making it impossible to predict the final count.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s defense has been suspect since the start of the season, and the defeat against Arsenal marked their eleventh league loss of the campaign.
Meanwhile, the Gunners took full advantage of Chelsea’s sloppy defense, with goals from Leandro Trossard, Ben White (2), and Kai Havertz (2) which helped them move three points clear at the top of the EPL table.
Despite the embarrassing defeat, Chelsea still have a chance to turn things around before the season ends.
However, they must pull themselves together and focus on the remaining games.
