Arsenal forward, Kai Havertz has named captain Martin Odegaard as the player who helped him adapt to life at the Emirates Stadium.
Havertz was among the several players who left Chelsea last summer and he moves to the Gunners.
The Germany international signed for Mikel Arteta’s side in a £65 million deal last summer.
He has shone in his debut season at the Premier League North London club.
But the 24-year-old picked up slowly at Arsenal amid much criticism over his move from Stamford Bridge.
“The skipper, Martin (Odegaard). I remember I was on holiday when I signed and he just dropped me a message 10 minutes after the news came out and just said ‘whatever you need, just give me a shout’.
“He’s a top guy, and a very good friend,” Havertz told Sky Sports when asked which of his teammates made him feel most welcome.
