EPL: He almost beat you in semi-final – Alan Pardew to Man Utd on Ten Hag’s replacement

Former Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew, has advised Manchester United on manager to appoint if they eventually part ways with Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag is under intense pressure at Man United due to his team’s display this season.

Several top managers including Zinedine Zidane, Thomas Tuchel, Gareth Southgate and Graham Potter have been linked with move to take over from the Dutchman at the end of the season.

However, Pardew wants Man United to consider appointing Mark Robins to succeed Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

“I have got a gaffer for you,” Pardew said on talkSPORT.

“Are you ready? He is not an international, he has not won the Dutch league, he has not won the French league.

“He is an old player of yours. He has done brilliant for four seasons, he almost beat you in the semi-final – Mark Robins.

“There you go. Get him in. He will do you a job, I tell you.”

Robins spent eight years at Man United from 1984 to 1992.

He has been Coventry’s manager since 2017 and during his time in charge they have won the League Two play-offs, League One title and EFL Trophy.
