EPL: ‘He now feels important’ – Cesc Fabregas compares himself to Arsenal star

After a shaky start to his debut season at Arsenal, Kai Havertz has turned his fortunes around, and former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has praised the German for his contribution to the team.

Fabregas believes that Havertz reminds him of himself during his days at Barcelona.

Havertz has excelled in the role of a false nine and as a number eight for Arsenal, scoring five goals for the team in nine matches.

Despite being confused about where he will play in the next game, Havertz has become an important player for Arsenal.

His recent performance against his former club Chelsea, where he scored a double, has been the highlight of his debut season.

Fabregas has applauded Havertz’s form and also advised him to stick to one position to get the best out of his potential.

Analysing Havertz’s resurgence on the Planet Premier League podcast, Fabregas said: “I don’t like to talk about me but he reminds me a little bit of me at Barcelona because I used to play these two roles that he plays as a false nine, in a way, and a number eight and I know exactly what it feels like.

“It’s good because he now feels an important player for the team but, at the same time, you don’t really know where you are going to play the next game.

“It can confuse you. It’s better sometimes just to stick to one place and get the best out of it.”
