Former Tottenham Hotspur striker, Darren Bent has proposed Liverpool to consider replacing Mohamed Salah with Kylian Mbappe.
Bent, renowned for his insights into the footballing world, hailed Mbappe as the premier player of the current era.
He emphasized Mbappe’s suitability as Salah’s successor, citing his versatility and exceptional talent.
Salah, aged 31, continues to serve as Liverpool’s frontline maestro.
Nevertheless, his contract expiring in 2025 has fueled speculation of a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
Bent opined that acquiring Mbappe could mollify Liverpool supporters amid Salah’s potential departure.
Highlighting Mbappe’s adaptability, Bent envisioned him seamlessly integrating into the Reds’ attacking setup.
In an interview with The Kop Times, Bent articulated, “Imagine you are trying to appease the Liverpool fans by going ‘listen, you are going to lose Salah, but Mbappé is coming. I still think Mbappé is the best player on the planet. He is incredible.
“That would work, if Salah went and he came in. I almost feel like that’s what Liverpool needs and he is versatile. He can play down the middle. Liverpool has a number of attacking players at the club that are versatile.”
