EPL: Man Utd players don’t want to play for Ten Hag – Rooney claims

Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, on Sunday accused senior players at the club of playing up their injuries.

Rooney was speaking about Man United’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford.

It was their second consecutive defeat and 14th overall in the Premier League this season.

The result leaves the Red Devils sitting in eighth position and heading towards their worst possible finish in Premier League history.

After the game, Rooney criticized some of the senior players of the squad who are currently out injured.

The likes of Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw all missed Man United’s clash with Arsenal due to injury.

“You look at the injuries and some of those players could play; 100 percent,” Rooney said on Sky Sports.

“You have a European Championships coming up and an FA Cup final coming up. It is easy for players to stay out for a little bit and then come back towards the European Championships. I have seen it myself over the years.

“I just think the players who have been injured are not filling themselves with any credit at the minute.”
