Manchester United’s stalwart defender, Harry Maguire, will play no further part in this season’s Premier League due to a recent training ground injury.
The setback, a muscular issue, occurred during training sessions earlier this week, ruling the English international out for the final quartet of league fixtures against Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Brighton.
According to ESPN, Maguire is in a race against time to recover for the upcoming FA Cup final clash against Manchester City on May 25th.
Additionally, he remains optimistic about achieving full fitness for England’s European Championship campaign, commencing on June 16th against Serbia.
Maguire’s absence compounds the woes for manager Erik ten Hag, who is already grappling with the unavailability of Lisandro Martínez, Victor Lindelöf, Raphaël Varane, and Willy Kambwala in the defensive department.
