EPL: Maresca gives verdict on Chelsea’s title race this season

Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has claimed that his team are not in the Premier League title race this season.

Maresca spoke at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday ahead of Chelsea’s away Premier League tie with Southampton on Wednesday night.

“They [Arsenal] have been there for the last two years, very close to Man City. We [Chelsea] have not been there,” Maresca said.

“They were very, very close to the City. Liverpool they have been there, we have not been there. Hopefully soon we could be there.

“We’re not in the title race. We are not, in my opinion. Absolutely.”

Chelsea currently sit in the third position on the Premier League table.
The Blues have 25 points from 13 matches ahead of the Southampton clash.

Maresca’s side are nine points behind leaders Liverpool on the log after beating Aston Villa 3-0 over the weekend.
