Everton head coach, Sean Dyche has singled out two of his players for special praise following his side’s Premier League 2-0 win over Liverpool on Wednesday.
The two players are striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Dyche believes the duo were outstanding against Liverpool at Goodison Park.
Two goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Calvert-Lewin ensured Everton defeated Jurgen Klopp’s side at home.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Dyche said: “They are a good side, we know that. The commitment from us had to be there. The energy of the side and also the key moments.
“I thought (Dominic Calvert-Lewin) was outstanding tonight. We have been trying to get him back to where he needs to be and I thought he was outstanding. The second one is a great header.”
He added, “Jordan Pickford made some big saves in the first half. It’s rare you stop these sides having chances so you need moments yourself. It’s hard to pick out one or two.
“We spoke about the desire and the energy of the team and the physical side of the game.”
