Manchester United legend Paul Scholes didn’t mince words as he heavily criticized Casemiro and Christian Eriksen for their lackluster showing in the Red Devils’ Premier League dismal 4-0 loss against Crystal Palace on Monday.
Scholes didn’t hold back, suggesting that both players might not belong at Manchester United.
The defeat saw Crystal Palace dominate with two goals in each half, featuring strikes from Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Scholes specifically pointed out Casemiro’s struggles against Olise and questioned Eriksen’s suitability for a club of United’s stature, citing a perceived deficiency in midfield physicality.
In his assessment, Scholes said (via HITC), “You think of the likes of Casemiro, he’s tough to have a go at it. What a player he has been over the years, but that was tough to watch, he was on his backside most of the time.
“People like Christian Eriksen as well, the physicality in the middle of the pitch has gone. They shouldn’t be at a club of this stature, really.”
