Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino, has explained why his side were defeated his 5-0 against Arsenal in Tuesday’s Premier League tie at Emirates Stadium.
Leandro Trossard gave Arsenal an early lead as the first half ended 1-0.
However, the Gunners scored more four goals in the second half, thanks to two braces each from Kai Havertz and Ben White.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Pochettino said the Blues failed to start the game well against Mikel Arteta’s side.
“I think we started the game not so well,” Pochettino said.
“We conceded the goal and then it was difficult for us to recover from this goal. I think in the first half we compete after 10, 15 minutes.
“We could not approach the game like we started in the first half and we didn’t compete the way we needed to compete and then when they scored the third it was easy for Arsenal to control the game.”
