Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has called on the Premier League to take action on Manchester City’s 115 charges urgently.
Ferdinand expressed his concerns on the Vibe with FIVE podcast, following City winning their fourth consecutive league title on Sunday.
Despite the celebrations, the shadow of alleged breaches between 2009 and 2018 looms large.
City have however vehemently denied any wrongdoing and a hearing is reportedly set for later this year.
Ferdinand has encouraged the Premier League to “knuckle down” and sort out City’s predicament for the broader “betterment of the game”.
He said: “The powers that be need to make sure that they finalise this as soon as possible, we’re seeing Everton and Nottingham Forest getting points deducted and I know it’s a less complex situation.”
