Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has given two reasons why Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag could be sacked this summer, even if the Red Devils wins the FA Cup.
Shearer feels Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford has already been determined by the club’s new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his administration.
He also claimed that winning the FA Cup would not secure the Dutchman’s future at the club.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, the former England forward said:
“I think the future of the Manchester United manager is already determined. Even if they win the FA Cup, I think he’s gone. That may be sad, that may be wrong but I just get the feeling that winning the FA Cup is not going to be enough for him.
“When you look at the players, when you look at the attitude, where they are in the league and all those things: Where they want to be, where they want to go, in a quick time I think he’s already gone.”
