In the aftermath of Manchester United’s disappointing 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Monday night, manager Erik ten Hag has reaffirmed his commitment to the team, despite mounting speculation about his future.
Despite first-half goals from Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta giving the hosts a commanding lead, with Tyrick Mitchell and Olise adding to the tally later in the game, Ten Hag remains resolute in his belief that he is the right person to lead United forward.
Acknowledging the team’s current eighth position in the Premier League table, with only one win in their last seven games, Ten Hag is determined to improve the team’s performance on the pitch.
Addressing concerns about his suitability for the role, he emphasized the importance of having the right players available and expressed confidence in the squad’s potential.
Looking ahead to their upcoming fixture against Arsenal, the Dutchman vowed to continue fighting and to redouble his efforts in preparing the team for the challenges ahead.
When asked if he believes he is still the right person to lead United, Ten Hag said after the defeat to Palace: “Absolutely. If the right players are there, so available, then we have a good squad.”
He added: “I will keep fighting. I prepared the team in the best way I could do.
“It was not good enough, I have to take responsibility for that but I will find energy and prepare them for Sunday’s game.”
