‘It’s a killer blow’ – Super Eagles midfielder’s goal earns high praise from Matt Piper

Former Leicester winger, Matt Piper, has lauded midfielder Wilfred Ndidi’s killer instinct in the Foxes’ 5-0 demolition of Southampton on Tuesday.

Enzo Maresca’s Leicester City put on a ruthless display against Southampton, securing a resounding victory at the King Power Stadium and opening up a four-point lead at the top of the table with two games to play.

The Foxes had Ndidi, Abdul Fatawu, and Jamie Vardy to thank for goals in the game, but it was Ndidi’s strike that drew praise from Piper.

Speaking on BBC Radio, Piper commended Ndidi’s killer instinct as he came steaming in to head home from Stephy Mavididi’s cross.

Despite the home crowd’s initial disappointment with Vardy’s decision-making, Ndidi’s decisive goal was undoubtedly a “killer blow” for Southampton.

“The crowd were moaning when Jamie Vardy held onto it, they thought he should have shot,” Piper said on BBC Radio.

“But Wilfred Ndidi comes steaming in with his sixth goal of the season. Southampton must be gutted-it is a killer blow for them.”
